Hot Weather Horror 7: Brassy Highlights
Those gorgeous golden highlights are turning brassy fast.
Prevent It: Highlighted hair that’s naturally medium brown or warm blonde is more likely to go coppery. Prevent brassy hues by covering hair with a hat or using styling aides to block the UV rays that cause that brassy color.

Hot Weather Horror 6: Razor Rash
You shaved your bikini line, but now you’ve got a nasty razor rash.
Prevent It: Opt for a gel when shaving, and let it sit on skin for a few minutes to soften the hair. Always shave in the direction of hair growth to minimize irritation.
Damage Control: Apply a 1% hydrocortisone cream to the area to reduce the rash. If the skin isn’t broken, conceal redness with a tinted face moisturizer, or opt for a sexy sarong when you’re out of the water.

Hot Weather Horror 5: Frizzy Curls
The humidity has given you a frizzy ‘fro of epic proportions.
Damage Control: If the frizz has already hit, wet your hands and run them over the top of hair to re-hydrate, add a wax for control, then twist curls around your fingers to re-form them.

Hot Weather Horror 4: Liquid Lipstick
You open your lipstick and get a melted mess.
Prevent It: If you’re heading to the beach with a cooler for drinks, toss your tube of lipstick in. Or, bring a pot of gloss or a tube with a wand so if it does melt, you can still use it.
Damage Control: If your lip color is just soft, throw it into the fridge or prop it near an air conditioner. If it’s liquid, scoop it into a small plastic pot and you’ve got a new carrier for your favorite color!
