Gwen: Global Inspiration
Gwen rocks the gorgeous baby-mama look with an African inspired empire waist gown. She manages to look both sophisticated and very appropriate for the occasion; Stefani was attending Madonna’s benefit for Malawi at the UN.
The dress is from the rock star/fashion maven’s own line LAMB.
I am so thrilled to announce that Coco avant Chanel is in production, starring French actress Audrey Tautou (of Amelie fame) set to play legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel.
Directed by Anne Fontaine, the film will cover the designer’s life pre-Chanel, from learning to sew in an orphanage as a child, to making costumes for herself as a cabaret singer.

Madonna: Sheer
The material girl is wearing much more material than she did in decades past. Here she looks elegant in a black skirt and heels, with a sexy twist from a sheer black blouse. Afraid to do sheer? Darker colors are always the key, that way you keep them guessing whether that’s a peek of your lingerie they’re seeing or not.
Renowned eco-friendly designer Rogan Gregory turned heads earlier this year by announcing that he will be designing a line for Target incorporating sustainable materials like organic cotton, linen, hemp, and bamboo.
Gregory says “In order to make any real impact, you have to reach the mass market. Sustainability can’t be a cult taste; it can’t be a luxury.”

In keeping with earth week- supermodel Giselle looks très chic running errands in NYC with an aluminum water bottle in hand. Plastic #7 bottles were recently found to leach hormone-disrupting toxins.
Giselle dated earth-crusader Leo DiCaprio on and off for a couple years; perhaps that’s where she adopted her earth-friendly style.

Bring your own bag that is. In honor of Earth Day, Macy’s is giving away 100% organic cotton shopping bags to their first 150 customers this weekend. And what if you’re customer 151? The bags are only $3.95, so stock up! They’re great for the environment and show that you’re a responsible consumer.

Oh Mary-Kate.
One-half of the Olsen Dynasty was at an event in NYC Wednesday looking more awful than ever.
After your eyes adjust to the rainbow muumuu dress thing, notice the bile-colored clutch and aerobics headband. This girl is a danger to the public, padded walls for her fashion schizophrenia is in order.

The Ascot does double duty; it keeps your neck warm and looks chic. It also holds the title for the easiest scarf tie.
Hold the scarf around your neck and tie it into a simple knot at the front.
Spread open the gathers and tuck into your coat or an open neckline. For an updated look, try it untucked.
