In the vein of the Cole Haan x Nike collaboration, Nine West has announced plans to work with athletic shoe company New Balance to release a line of “active fashion” footwear. The collaboration is an effort to combine the stylishness of Nine West and the functionality of a New Balance shoe and is slated for release on early 2009. Around 20 different styles will be featured all for under $100.

The scrunchy boot is here for fall! Last fall we seen the skinny boot, which charged into spring, but designers like Mar Jacobs, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Jill Stuart have all walked a variation of these boots down the runway for their Pre-Fall collections. A straight-cut Bermuda style will instantly lengthen and slim your thighs. Opt for solid on the bottom and prints on top to draw attention up.

Avoid: Bulky cargos that add width to your hips.
