bootie Hot Footwear for Fall

You’ve seen them featured at the top of all of the season’s must-haves lists. They’re boots of all kinds, shapes and colors, and the most popular style? The shootie. These work because they’re a transitional shoe hybrid. Top sellers in both warm-weather climates and those waiting for falls leaves to drop, the shoe bootie is the “it” item of the fall season. Whether it’s a stiletto, wedge, or stacked heel, the shootie can be worn with any outfit; jeans (tucked in or not), skirts (mini, knee-length or longer), with tights, and dressed up or down, they’re surely one of the fall’s most versatile items.

gwyneth_balmain_2 Fashion Myths Busted!

Myth: No minis over 35.

Truth: All it takes is a peak at Gwyneth Paltrow’s legs in this Balmain dress to dispel this myth. If you’ve got the gams, then go for it! The only rule: stick to understated silhouettes and simple hair and makeup.

Myth: Never wear denim with denim.

Truth: You can sport a jean jacket with jeans, as long as you vary the wash of the two pieces. Try wearing a skinny white jean with a light wash belted jean jacket.

Myth: Belts and baby bumps don’t mix.

Truth: A waist-cinching belt can turn a tent-like frock into a flattering Empire-waist dress. Don’t be afraid to show off that extra-feminine figure!

ck2 Calvin Kleins Star-Studded Party

Halle Berry, in a body-hugging black dress, and her special man, model Gabriel Aubry were among stars that helped make Calvin Klein’s 40th anniversary bash a New York Fashion Week moment.

The couple mingled with actor Djimon Hounsou and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons at Sunday’s big event atop the High Line, a former elevated rail line that’s been converted to a park on New York City’s west side. Jared Leto chatted up Ethan Hawke and Claire Danes walked hand-in-hand with actor-boyfriend Hugh Dancy.

There was no party more exclusive, which included other A-listers such as Naomi Watts, Martha Stewart, Cynthia Nixon, Kevin Bacon, Rosario Dawson, Brooke Shields and Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.

weardrobe Weardrobe: Your Online Closet

Looking for a social, fashion-inspired interactive venue? Look no further than Weardrobe. The site is a veritable online closet that allows people to search and browse through each other’s closets. Members upload pictures of themselves and catalog their own clothing with labels and tags.

The site allows you to see your closet’s content and keep track of how often you wear certain items. And, by making people’s closets searchable, Weardrobe says they help people discover new clothes and looks that can work for them. Weardrobe founder Rich Tong says the site “is about putting your closet to best use, and continuing to discover new ways of styling what’s in it.”
